Genova
The heart of the town is its historical centre, the largest in Europe, closedbetween the sea and the hills; here majestic and splendid palaces rise between narrow alleys in a bustling atmosphere.

During the Medioeval period Genoa increased its power especially thanks to the commercial activities in the port and to the noble families,so that the town gained the title of “Superba” (superb, proud).

In 2004 Genoa was European capital of Culture and in 2006 UNESCO declared Genoa and the Rolli Palaces world human heritage.

Genoa itself is strictly bounded to history and to the sea, in fact it also gave birth to Cristoforo Colombo.
